By the end of this training, participants will:
- Explain the concept and evolution of localisation and the importance of equitable partnerships in humanitarian action.
- Describe DG ECHO's localisation approach and the key principles of its Guidance Note on Promoting Equitable Partnerships with Local Responders.
- Identify practical actions to strengthen localisation and support local leadership within humanitarian organisations.
- Reflect on how localisation influences individual, organisational and operational practices, and identify opportunities for improvement.
This course is designed for humanitarian workers interested in promoting equitable partnerships with local responders in humanitarian settings.
It is particularly relevant for:
• Staff working for DG ECHO Certified Partners
• Staff working for local and national actors partnering with DG ECHO-certified organisations
• Non-specialists who would like to build a basic understanding of localisation and equitable partnerships
The course introduces key concepts in a practical and accessible way and does not require prior specialist knowledge.
