Training Services to Candidate Volunteers of the European Voluntary Humanitarian Aid Corps

5-day face-to-face training course designed to prepare young volunteers (18–35) for humanitarian operations in third countries. Led by Lattanzio KIBS in partnership with PuntoSud, Bioforce, IECAH and IFHV, the initiative provides intensive on-site preparation to ensure candidates possess the transversal and technical competences required to support hosting organizations effectively.

Course Description

Humanitarian Aid Volunteering projects funded under this initiative give young people aged 18–35 the chance to support humanitarian operations through meaningful volunteering activities. These projects enable volunteers to contribute to the work of their hosting organisations by carrying out essential tasks.

Led by Lattanzio KIBS in partnership with Punto Sud, Bioforce, IECAH and IFHV, the project guides potential volunteers from registration on the European Solidarity Corps Portal to their inclusion in a pool of candidates available for selection. Before deployment, volunteers must complete a mandatory training programme that equips them with the skills and competences needed to operate effectively in third countries.

Training covers transversal competences such as intercultural awareness and personal health and safety and specific competences linked to humanitarian aid and development, including the application of humanitarian and development cooperation principles.
